American Airlines and Kingfisher Airlines have agreed on a Reciprocal Frequent-Flyer plan

American Airlines has launched a frequent-flyer agreement with oneworld member-elect Kingfisher Airlines, allowing members of each airline's loyalty program to earn and redeem miles on each other's network.

Under the new frequent-flyer agreement with Kingfisher Airlines, American Airlines AAdvantage members can earn and redeem miles for travel on all Kingfisher flights within India, and between India and Europe, Asia and the Middle East. Kingfisher King Club members can now earn King Miles on all American Airlines flights throughout Asia, Europe, North America, and South America.

American says the frequent flyer agreement with Kingfisher, India's only airline to be given a five-star rating by the Skytrax survey, will significantly expand American's network in the region, providing more choices and better connections for American's customers traveling between the U.S. and India. American Airlines offers non-stop service between Chicago O'Hare International Airport (ORD) and Delhi's Indira Gandhi International Airport (DEL), with Boeing 777-200ERs.

 

 

 

 

 
"This has been an outstanding year for AAdvantage members traveling around the world," says Maya Leibman – president of the AAdvantage loyalty program. "With enhanced frequent flyer agreements this year between American and participating airlines such as Kingfisher, our AAdvantage members have never had more opportunities to earn and redeem miles to destinations across our international network."

"This is yet another step toward strengthening the strong bilateral ties between the two airlines," says Anshu Sarin, vice president – guest loyalty and Kingfisher Holidays for Kingfisher Airlines Limited. "Besides benefiting individual King Club members, this arrangement will especially benefit companies whose executives travel frequently."

Sarin adds: "Frequent flyers from the corporate sector will now be able to accumulate frequent flyer points in one single currency, namely King Miles, and have the flexibility of being able to redeem their accumulated King Miles for any flight of American Airlines anywhere in the world. American Airlines' frequent flyers will be able to enjoy similar reciprocal benefits on the Kingfisher Airlines route network."

The Indian carrier Kingfisher Airlines to India is expected to be inducted into oneworld in early 2012. Kingfisher's addition will expand oneworld's network to 800 destinations in almost 150 countries.
